Hardmode begins after defeating the Wall of Flesh and is the largest progression phase in Terraria. The world becomes more dangerous, new resources become available, new biome states appear and equipment progression accelerates.
Immediate priorities after entering Hardmode
- Upgrade survivability before taking on major bosses.
- Identify the new resources and enemies that matter for your build.
- Improve mobility so stronger enemies are easier to manage.
- Decide which mechanical boss you want to prepare for first.
Mechanical boss phase
The Destroyer, The Twins and Skeletron Prime form the central early-Hardmode boss stage. You can approach them in different orders, so use your current equipment and arena setup to decide which encounter is the most practical next target.
Post-mechanical progression
After the mechanical-boss stage, progression moves toward Plantera, then Golem and later-game events and bosses. Each step opens stronger items, enemies or areas that prepare you for the next part of the game.
Late game
Late Hardmode is less about one linear checklist and more about tightening your loadout: weapons, armor, accessories, mobility and arena preparation all matter before the final progression sequence.
