Baldur's Gate 3 Cleric Build

A support and spellcasting build-planning hub for healing, buffs, control and frontline utility.

Cleric can cover healing, buffs, control, damage and even frontline duties depending on subclass and equipment. The useful starting point is not “how much healing can I stack?” but “what role is my party actually missing?”

Choose the primary role

  • Healing and recovery
  • Buffs and defensive support
  • Control and debuffs
  • Frontline durability
  • Offensive spellcasting

Support is more than healing

Preventing damage, improving ally accuracy, controlling enemies or ending a fight faster can be more valuable than repeatedly spending turns restoring hit points.

Spell preparation

Prepare spells around the encounters and role you expect. A support-focused Cleric does not need every damage option prepared, while an offensive Cleric still needs enough utility to justify the party slot.

Single-class versus multiclass

Cleric works well as a full class because deeper spell progression is valuable. If multiclassing, be clear about which feature from the second class is worth delaying higher-level Cleric options.

Party fit

Use the Party Role Planner to check whether another companion already covers the support job. If so, your Cleric can lean more heavily into control, damage or frontline utility.
